Held since 2016 with the support of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, the Baku Marathon aims to promote a healthy lifestyle and foster running culture in Azerbaijan.

On May 3, 2026, for the first time in its history, the Baku Marathon will feature the full marathon distance of 42.2 km. The route starts at the National Flag Square, winds through the picturesque Baku Boulevard and the city&rsquo;s central avenues, proceeds past Lake Boyukshor, and concludes on the coast at Sea Breeze.

The race slogan &mdash; &quot;Win the Wind&quot; &mdash; embodies the spirit of freedom, willpower, and the drive to reach new heights.

The Baku Marathon is also a major family festival. The event program features fan zones, interactive games, and a concert, bringing together running enthusiasts, supporters, residents, and guests of Azerbaijan&rsquo;s capital.

The largest race in Central Asia has been held at the foothills of the Zailiyskiy Alatau since 2012. The Almaty Marathon offers runners an exciting challenge with long climbs and steep descents through Kazakhstan&rsquo;s mountain capital. Organized by the &ldquo;Courage to Be the First&rdquo; Corporate Fund, the marathon promotes inclusion in sports and supports charitable projects for children with special needs. Each year, around 16,000 runners from over 60 countries come together to experience the vibrant atmosphere of this major sporting event with a charitable mission.

Bishkek Snow Leopard Run is Kyrgyzstan&rsquo;s premier race. Taking runners through the central streets of Bishkek, the course offers breathtaking views of the mountains and showcases the city&#39;s iconic landmarks. Every year, the race brings together 5,000 participants from 20 countries &mdash; from three-year-old children to professional athletes.

The name of the race reflects its environmental mission: to raise awareness among the local and international community about the importance of protecting snow leopards and vulnerable mountain ecosystems.

Since 2022, the marathon has introduced participants to both the ancient history and modern life of Turkistan, the spiritual center of Kazakhstan. In 2024, the Turkistan Marathon welcomed 3,000 runners from 21 countries.

The event promotes a healthy lifestyle and positively impacts the local economy, attracting support from local authorities and businesses. Together with its partners, the main organizer &mdash; &ldquo;Courage to Be the First&rdquo; Corporate Fund &mdash; is not only contributing to Turkistan&rsquo;s cultural and economic development, but also working to turn this historic city into a vibrant international sports hub.

Since 2019, the Art and Culture Development Foundation of the Republic of Uzbekistan has organized the Samarkand Marathon &mdash; an international charity rae that blends sport, culture, and social impact.

The course leads runners through a breathtaking route past ancient mosques and madrasahs, the iconic blue domes of Registan Square, and the traditional mahallas of Samarkand, creating a truly unforgettable experience.

As part of the festival&rsquo;s tradition, the opening day concludes with a vibrant concert featuring local artists and a headline musical act.

Samarkand Marathon not only promotes healthy living and boosts sports tourism in Uzbekistan, but also draws attention to the importance of making cultural and artistic spaces more inclusive for everyone.
